Since January 2021, more than 100 students have completed the nineteen-week Introductory Hebrew course. Below are a few testimonies from clergy, professional educators and home school parents
Clergy
I completed my Doctor of Ministry at Ashland Theological Seminary without having to take the courses of Biblical Hebrew and Greek. Even though I have access to the “Logos” software, I still had to fumble my way through finding Hebrew words and their meaning, taking much time away from my focus on study. I have always felt I was lacking in this part of deep biblical study. When the opportunity came for me to complete a course in Introductory Hebrew with Dr. Wetz, I jumped at the chance. Over the nineteen weeks of the course, I now know the Hebrew alphabet in pronunciation and writing, have the ability to transliterate from Hebrew to English and back, can look up Hebrew words in the dictionary for their meaning, and have some familiarity with the vowel names and markings. And by the way, you will learn some Old Testament history as well! I highly recommend this Introductory Hebrew course and Dr. Wetz’s methodical, interacting teaching style. He will be sure you succeed in learning this language.
Reverend Dr. Brian C. Oglesbee - Senior pastor, Collins Church
I’ve been in the ministry for thirty-five years and I thought to myself, “what is the point of taking a Hebrew class at this stage of my ministry? What exactly am I going to learn? How is this really going to help me?” After sitting down with Dr. Wetz and hearing what the class was going to be about, I realized that I had to take this course. Although individual classes are an hour and half long, you don’t want them to end. By the time I completed the course, I learned the Hebrew alphabet, how to correctly pronounce each letter, how to read and how to write Hebrew. Simply stated, what you learn from the weekly lessons is incredible. Without a doubt, these skills will further my personal enrichment in the scripture. Do not miss the opportunity to take this course!

Professional Educators
I completed the introductory Hebrew course taught by Dr. Wetz. The course is challenging but Dr. Wetz is very encouraging to his students. Organization for instructional materials is sequenced in a manner that allows students with no knowledge of Hebrew to be able to speak, transliterate and interpret Hebrew. I now have the knowledge required to better understand the Holy Scripture with the use of a lexicon and interlinear Bible. I highly recommend this course to prospective students.

I took the Introductory Hebrew Course and an Intermediary Hebrew Course with Dr. Wetz to help strengthen my understanding of Scripture. As a college professor, I appreciated the way this Introductory course was organized, the pace at which the material was presented, and the resources that we used. Dr. Wetz has created a very effective workbook for the course that reflects his focused and intentional teaching style. Any student who attends this class will learn the Hebrew alphabet and get an introduction to Hebrew grammar that will make their Bible study more effective.

As a Bible teacher for over three decades, I would strongly encourage every believer to take this Introductory Hebrew course. The course is easy enough for everyone to succeed, providing a solid understanding for the initial stages of Biblical Hebrew. Dr. Wetz is an engaging instructor who makes learning the foundations for the Hebrew language informative and enjoyable.

Home School Parents that Took the Course with their Teenagers
Along with my son (6th grade) and husband, I took the beginner and intermediate courses with Dr Wetz. It was extraordinarily helpful for training a homeschooler in independent study for a topic. Additionally, it really helped my homeschooler to gain a sense of independent accomplishment, as he identified Hebrew characters and words on his own. My family and I are now able to more fully understand the Bible and obtain clarity when a portion for the Old Testament, KJV or another translation, is unclear. This is because our family is now able to effectively identify Hebrew roots and locate original meanings for those roots in a Hebrew dictionary.

Taking the Introductory Hebrew course with my three teenagers was very rewarding. Learning the significance of the Hebrew Alphabet, biblical geography, and Ancient Israelite history illuminated more of the plan for man and myself that YHWH set forth. Not only did it give me a deeper understanding for God’s word, but it also enhanced the relationship with my teenagers as we learned together.
